Build your retirement path
From education to a clearer retirement strategy
Whether you have attended a seminar or you are just getting started online, you can meet one-to-one with the NFI Retirement Academy team. We take time to understand your retirement situation, identify gaps or concerns, and help you build a clearer strategy - then help implement appropriate solutions when they fit.
Many people have retirement assets but have never put all the pieces together. In a planning conversation we may look at income, protection, longevity, long-term care, and legacy considerations - and how strategies may apply to assets such as IRAs, 401(k)s and other employer plans, investment accounts, CDs and bank deposits, other retirement savings, and ongoing income that may support life-insurance planning. A conversation helps determine whether some assets should stay positioned for growth or liquidity, and whether an appropriate portion could benefit from insurance-based protection or lifetime-income strategies. Nothing is automatic; we do not assume assets should be moved.
Income
How retirement income may need to last, and which strategies - including lifetime-income features available through some annuity contracts - may support that goal when appropriate.
Protection
Risks that could disrupt retirement, including market exposure for money you rely on, and long-term-care cost considerations where insurance strategies may help.
Legacy
Beneficiary and legacy topics, life-insurance considerations where they fit, and estate-planning issues coordinated with a qualified attorney. We do not provide legal advice or create legal documents.
A path forward
Clear next steps: understand what you have, identify gaps, develop a retirement strategy, and implement appropriate solutions when they fit.
When strategies fit your goals, solutions we may help implement can include fixed indexed annuities and other appropriate annuity strategies, life insurance, and long-term-care-related insurance where appropriate, along with coordination on legacy and estate-planning needs with qualified legal professionals.
Fixed indexed annuities, in plain language
A fixed indexed annuity is an insurance contract that can offer principal protection from direct market losses (subject to contract terms), interest-crediting potential linked to an external market index, optional or contractual lifetime-income features depending on the product, tax deferral, and beneficiary or death-benefit features depending on the contract. They do not mean you own or directly participate in the underlying index.
Tradeoffs can include surrender periods, liquidity limits, caps, spreads, participation rates or other crediting limits, rider charges where applicable, and reliance on the insurer's financial strength and claims-paying ability. An annuity is not right for every person or every dollar. We discuss them only when they may fit the strategy.
Scheduling opens in Microsoft Bookings.
